Egypt is set to welcome a major new entertainment landmark: Ebnyland, a 63,000-square-metre theme-park complex planned for New Sohag City. Announced by developer Ebny Developments, the park will feature more than 100 rides and attractions - including roller coasters, family zones, dining and retail areas - and is positioned as Upper Egypt's first international-standard leisure destination. The project is backed by over USD 10 million in global investment and is expected to be completed in roughly six months, with a launch timed for peak regional tourism windows.
Ebnyland is being developed through a global partnership with ride experts and suppliers from the UK, China, and Italy. The team has brought together well-known amusement industry names-including Frego, Midpower, E Park, Lark, Zamperla, and Childwood-for technical support. This collaboration ensures a diverse lineup of thrill rides, family attractions, and play areas designed for all ages. Located in a region with over 38 million people, Ebnyland is positioned to significantly boost local tourism and support related retail growth.
From a business standpoint, Ebnyland offers new opportunities for shopping malls, family entertainment centers (FECs), and arcade suppliers. Large theme parks like this help extend visitor stays and increase spending on food, shopping, and arcade games. For suppliers, this means demand not only for major roller coasters and simulators, but also for mid-range, sturdy games that fit in retail areas, food courts, and indoor arcades-perfect for capturing casual spending from families and group visitors.
A natural, high-margin fit for Ebnyland's indoor entertainment and retail areas are prize and gift machines - specifically excavator (excavator gift) machines and large claw/giant crane machines. These units are compact, visually attractive and drive impulse play among family groups and tourists. Placing excavator gift machines near food courts or the park's retail precinct captures waiting families; giant crane machines stocked with branded or park-exclusive soft toys create both merchandising and social-sharing opportunities (winners often post haul photos, which amplifies word-of-mouth). Compared with large rides, prize machines require less footprint, lower staffing and provide steady per-play revenue - an ideal complement to Ebnyland's headline attractions.

Ebnyland's rapid timeline and broad investment make it a watershed moment for Upper Egypt's leisure market. For ride manufacturers, FEC operators and amusement-equipment suppliers, the park is both a sales opportunity and a model: combine headline attractions with compact, revenue-dense products - like excavator gift machines and giant crane claw machines - to maximize per-guest spend and deliver a full, memorable visitor journey.
